All about Jovie Goat Junior
Goat Protein Power!
Goat milk contains unique proteins that promotes easy digestion. Goat milk is soft and gentle on the tummy. It easily passes from the stomach into the intestines for further digestion.
Goat milk contains unique proteins that promotes easy digestion.
Anecdotally, we’ve always known that goat milk formula has a superior digestibility profile because of our own experiences, but also the collective experiences of many consumers.
This may be due to the clotting behavior of the various milk proteins in the stomach. Goat milk “clumps” are softer and gentler so they easily pass from the stomach into the intestines for further digestion.
Jovie Goat is suitable for children with a sensitivity for cow milk, but we do not advice it for children with a cow milk allergy.
Full Fat Milk Goodness
Fats are important nutrients when growing up as they are full of energy and support a healthy development. Jovie Junior includes goat milk fat because of its inherent benefits; carrier of vitamin A, D, E and K and MCT's for comfort and energy.
Jovie Junior is formulated with whole goat milk, locking in as many natural goat milk benefits as possible and keeping out less desired ingredients such as palm oil.
Fats are important nutrients when growing up as they are full of energy and support a healthy development. Fats also carry vitamin A, D, E and K. An additional benefit of goat milk fat is the high degree of short and medium chain triglycerides (MCTs). These increase the overall digestibility and the absorbability of the fat. Moreover, goat milk fat contains valuable lipids such as phospholipids and sphingolipids.
Lutein – the “Eye Vitamin”
Lutein is a carotenoid and a structural component of the eye. Lutein in Jovie Junior supports eye development.
Lutein is an important carotenoid for eye health. It is a structural component of the eye since it is found in the macula, responsible for maintaining central vision. Lutein is also a potent antioxidant, therefore supplementing children with lutein may reduce the development of oxidizing substances known as free radicals that could damage the eye.
Lutein has also been identified in areas of the brain associated with memory and learning, critical for school-aged children!
Other foods rich in lutein include broccoli, spinach, kale, corn, orange pepper, kiwi fruit, grapes, orange juice, zucchini, and squash. Lutein is absorbed best when it is taken with a meal or beverage containing fat, which Jovie is perfectly suited for since it is made with full fat goat milk goodness!
Vital Vitamins & Minerals
Vitamins and minerals are essential in the diet of growing children. They ensure the healthy development of the skeleton, support a robust immune system, help in the growth and repair of tissue and much more.
Highly Absorbable Minerals
Chelated minerals offer better bioavailability, meaning they are easily absorbed and assimilated into the cells and tissues of the body – especially compared with minerals that are in their inorganic forms and therefore not chelated. Iron and zinc are both notoriously difficult minerals to absorb and are often found to be deficient in many individuals.
Jovie Junior formulates with iron bisglycinate and zinc bisglycinate, which are both in in their chelated forms for maximum bioavailability for your growing child.
Naturally, milk is an excellent source of Calcium and Phosphorous. These two minerals, together with vitamin D, are building the skeleton.
Carbohydrates in Jovie Junior
Although lactose is the naturally occurring carbohydrate in all milk, many children, especially as they get older lose the ability to digest it effectively. Jovie Junior contains the lactose natural occurring in goat milk and is supplemented with glucose syrup instead of added lactose.
5-MTHF- A Better Folate
Jovie is proud to offer Methylfolate, or 5-MTHF for short, as the better folate choice in our Junior products.
The 5-MTHF used In Jovie Goat Is Quatrefolic™, a Registered Trademark of Gnosis S.p.A., U.S. Patent No. 7,947,662.
This superior new type of folate ingredient is easily incorporated into cellular functioning in the body, much better than folic acid is. The reason? Methylfolate is already in its biologically active form. Folic acid, on the other hand, is not biologically active and needs to first be converted into the metabolically active form through a multi-steps process where the enzyme called methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHFR) has a key role.
Folate helps tissues grow and cells work. It works with vitamin B12 and vitamin C to help the body break down, use, and create new proteins. Folate is also needed to form red blood cells. It helps produce DNA, the building block of the human body, which carries genetic information. Folate is also required for enhancing mood.
Unfortunately, regulation is not always up to date and hence this relatively new ingredient has not been approved in all products, or all countries. Where it is not possible to use 5-MTHF in Junior formula, folic acid is used.
GOS & FOS
GOS and FOS are important prebiotic fibres promoting the growth of the beneficial bifidobacteria in the large intestine, improving bowel function and stool consistency, and positively influencing the development of the immune system.
DHA & Choline
DHA supports your child’s brain and eye development encouraging improved cognitive function and visual acuity. These are important building blocks for your child’s brain; DHA alone represents about 97% of the omega-3’s found in brain tissue.
Choline is a very important nutrient for cognitive function in a developing child. Combined with DHA, choline increases the availability of DHA to a child, thus further facilitating improved brain development.
