Goat Protein Power!

Goat milk contains unique proteins that promotes easy digestion. Goat milk is soft and gentle on the tummy. It easily passes from the stomach into the intestines for further digestion.

Goat milk contains unique proteins that promotes easy digestion, making it a very suitable base for infant milk.

Anecdotally, we’ve always known that an infant goat milk has a superior digestibility profile because of our own experiences, but also the collective experiences of many other parents choosing goat milk formulas. Scientifically, when infant formulas made from goat milk and cow milk are put to a digestibility test, the results show clear differences; after about 30 minutes the infant goat milk digestion rate is about twice the rate of cow milk formula.

The different digestibility rates may be due to the clotting behavior of the various milk proteins in the infant stomach. Goat milk formulas' “milk clumps” are softer and gentler so they easily pass from the stomach into the intestines for further digestion.

Jovie Goat Infant Milk is suitable for babies with a sensitivity for cow milk, but we do not advice it for children with a cow milk allergy.

Full Fat Milk Goodness

Infants receive about half of their caloric intake from fat. Jovie Goat Milk Formulas include goat milk fat because of its inherent benefits; natural beta-palmitate and MCT's for comfort and energy.

Jovie Goat Milk Formulas include as much goat milk fat as possible because of the inherent benefits of the whole goat milk. This is an important distinction over other formulas that include de-fatted or skimmed milk ingredients that have the milk fats removed.

A major advantage of goat milk fat lays in the fact that it has a high percentage of palmitic acid in the so-called sn-2 position of the fat molecule. Just like in human breastmilk. This is important because this fatty acid arrangement promotes infant health in a number of ways, such as improved fat and calcium absorption, bone health, intestinal flora, digestive comfort, and softer stools.

Goat milk has a high degree of short and medium chain triglycerides (MCTs) which increases the overall digestibility and the absorbability of the fat. As such, Jovie Goat products contain higher levels of MCTs than regular formulas.

Additionally, goat milk fat contains valuable lipids, such as cholesterol, phospholipids and sphingolipids which can also be found in breast milk.

DHA/AA – Brain and Eye Nutrients

Both DHA and AA are fatty acids supporting infant brain and eye development encouraging cognitive function and visual acuity.

The first year of life is a critical time for your baby’s cognitive development. Your baby's brain more than doubles in size the first year of life. Both DHA and AA support infant brain and eye development encouraging improved cognitive function and visual acuity.  These are important building blocks for your baby’s brain; DHA alone represents about 97% of the omega-3’s found in brain tissue. Taking this into consideration, Jovie Goat also adds DHA and AA to its formulas.

Lutein – the “Eye Vitamin”

Lutein is a carotenoid and a structural component of the eye. Lutein in Jovie infant goat milk supports eye development.

Jovie Infant Goat Milk contains added lutein, inspired by the fact that breast milk contains lutein derived from the mother’s diet. Lutein is an important carotenoid for eye health. It is a structural component of the eye since it is found in the macula, responsible for maintaining central vision. When your baby grows older, you might want to introduce foods rich in lutein such as broccoli, spinach, zucchini, and pumpkin.

Vital Vitamins & Minerals

Vitamins and minerals are essential in the diet of an infant (and in your diet too!). They ensure the healthy development of the skeleton, support a robust immune system, help in the growth and repair of tissue and much more. To name a few:

Vitamin D3 promotes calcium and phosphorus absorption, improves bone density, prevents skeletal malformations, supports a robust immune system, and is required for thyroid function.

Vitamin C is required for the production of collagen, maintenance, growth and repair of tissues, bones and teeth, the synthesis of neurotransmitters, and it also has antioxidant properties.

Vitamin E is an antioxidant found in breast milk, which helps protect lipids, like DHA, from oxidation.

Vitamins and minerals are strictly regulated in the world of infant formulas, and thus are well formulated in Jovie Goat.

GOS

GOS is important prebiotic fibre that promotes the growth of the beneficial bifidobacteria in the large intestine. GOS has been associated with improving bowel function and stool consistency, and positively influencing the development of the immune system. Several good reasons to include GOS to Jovie Infant Goat Milk!

Choline

Choline is an essential nutrient found in breast milk with a critical role in brain development and functions such as attention, learning, and memory. Choline is also important for cell membrane structure and DNA regulation.

Inositol

Inositol is an essential building block for the brain found in breast milk and associated with improved neuro- and language development.

Breastmilk is best

Breastmilk is best for babies. Jovie provides an alternative if breastmilk is not sufficient or if you wish to switch to bottle feeding.
